ZETRIX 2025 Update: Your Highlights to Our AI and Blockchain Advancements
Over the past year, we have taken bold steps to push AI and blockchain innovation. The ASEAN China AI Lab became a pivotal milestone, driving regional collaboration and paving the way for NurAI, the world’s first Shariah-compliant large language model. We also reinforced Malaysia’s digital backbone in identity and trade, expanded our AI footprint across Indonesia, and introduced blockchain voting to the global stage through the Miss Universe platform.

Building Malaysia’s Digital Identity Infrastructure
The first major milestone of the year began with our partnership with MyDigital ID Solutions to build a secure, blockchain-based identity system, and the MyDigital ID Superapp.

The app is powered by the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI) under MIMOS, allowing users to authenticate themselves seamlessly with service providers while protecting their personal data. This privacy-by-design approach ensures that citizens can access government and private services safely, without compromising on confidentiality.
By embedding blockchain at the core of Malaysia’s identity framework, we set the foundation for a future where digital interactions are secure, verifiable, and sovereign.
Strengthening Regional Digital Trade
We had another advancement in our blockchain initiatives with a strategic partnership with SGTraDex to transform cross-border trade between Malaysia and Singapore.

This collaboration leverages Zetrix’s blockchain infrastructure to digitise and secure trade documentation, replacing traditional paper-based processes with verifiable, tamper-proof electronic records. The initiative paves the way for seamless data exchange between both countries.
Beyond immediate trade benefits, this partnership also supports ASEAN’s broader Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA). By fostering digital interoperability and compliance, it brings Malaysia and Singapore one step closer to realising a regional economy where businesses can operate with greater confidence and reduced friction.
Launching the ASEAN China AI Lab
Our defining milestone in AI was the launch of the ASEAN China AI Lab, the first government-to-government (G2G) collaboration between Zetrix and China’s Beitou IT Innovation. The Lab has since attracted participation from leading industry players such as DeepSeek, Huawei, DJI, Leju Robotics, and others, marking a strong foundation for cross-border technological exchange.

Located within Zetrix Tower, the AI Lab spearheads joint research and development between China and ASEAN nations, focusing on blockchain, generative AI, and robotics. Its mission is to drive innovation in cross-border applications and localise AI solutions that reflect regional cultures, values, and priorities.
Introducing NurAI: A Value-Based AI for the Global South
Building on the foundation of the ASEAN China AI Lab, Zetrix launched NurAI, the world’s first Shariah-compliant large language model. It was developed under the guidance of Islamic scholars, including Malaysian Islamic Development Department (“JAKIM”), Indonesian Ulama Council (“MUI”), International Islamic Fiqh Academy (“IIFA”), and Al-Azhar University in Egypt.
NurAI reflects a values-based approach to AI development.

Following its launch, Zetrix formalised a collaboration with JAKIM to advance Malaysia’s leadership in Islamic AI and promote responsible adoption across the Muslim world. NurAI delivers Shariah-consistent insights across fields, including law, finance, healthcare, and Islamic studies. It serves individuals seeking daily guidance and institutions such as Islamic banks, halal certification bodies, and government agencies pursuing digital Shariah compliance.
NurAI is multilingual, available in Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, Arabic, and English, and accessible through web browsers, the Apple App Store, and Google Play Store.
Expanding Our AI Presence in Indonesia
Following the success of the ASEAN China AI Lab in Malaysia, Zetrix AI has launched a second lab in Jakarta, Indonesia. The expansion follows a teaming agreement with PT Royal Solusi Investasi, part of Indonesia’s Royal Group, and is supported by the governments of Malaysia, China, and Indonesia.
The Jakarta lab focuses on localising proven AI, blockchain, and robotics projects for Indonesia’s market of over 285 million people, with an emphasis on data privacy and cross-border collaboration.
This initiative strengthens ASEAN’s position as a centre for AI innovation and reflects our commitment to developing technologies that serve the needs of the Global South.
Bringing Blockchain to Miss Universe Voting
The year’s journey led to one of our most globally recognised milestones: our partnership with the Miss Universe Organization (MUO).
Together, we announced the Miss Universe Global Blockchain Voting App, introducing secure, verifiable, and transparent voting to the world’s most prestigious pageant for the first time in its 73-year history.

Through Zetrix’s blockchain infrastructure, every vote is tamper-proof and publicly verifiable, ensuring that fans across the world can trust the results. The app will feature AI companions modelled after contestants, allowing fans to interact, learn about their causes, and connect on a deeper level.
The app will be available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It gives fans exclusive behind-the-scenes updates, highlights, and a new way to experience Miss Universe.
This partnership showcases how blockchain and AI can come together to create meaningful, transparent, and engaging digital experiences on a global stage.
